Stuttgart Germany at the dawn of Adolf Hitler's Germany
a propaganda wagon full of Nazi SA Brownshirts parades through the city for Hitler
"WE DON'T ALLOW ANY SABOTAGE OF THE CONSTRUCTIVE WORK OF THE FUHRER"
Photo measures 7 x 9 inches, and is an original 1935 AP News Photograph, forwarded from the only non-German news agency still allowed in operation at the time.
The propaganda consists of 4 political cartoon vignettes, each very immediate to that time:
1) Criticizing Christian clergy for objecting to the forced sterilization of the mentally disabled
2) Promoting 'The Blood Purity Law's' stereotype of Jewish businessmen taking advantage of and marrying young German girls
3) Belittling German university groups who were being critical of Hitler
4) Criticizing the Catholic Church and its money, depicting a nun with a bag of money stating "ENTRANCE FEE TO HEAVEN"
There were relatively few press photos such as this allowed out of Germany due to their tightly controlled press and propaganda apparatus. This photo served as one of the early warning signs of what was to come in Hitler's Germany. It appeared in several US newspapers in August of 1935, with little elaboration or commentary. Perhaps none was needed.
The photo is in good condition, with one small corner crease and very light age wear
