Antique manuscript exemption letter requesting the medical discharge of

Militia solder, Guilford Cobb, who went on to establish an Inn in Canaan, NH

Cobb suffered 'a breach of the stomach' leaving him disabled from military service

Clough continued as a physician and surgeon throughout the Civil War

Signed also by Hubbard Harris of Canaan, NH and dated April 1851
